As an old timer I have seen the reasons for gun ownership changing over the years. Years ago we purchased guns for hunting. There is less and less interest by todays youth in hunting. Today the interest is in self defense. Not only protection from perpetrators, but even to resist our ever increasing socialistic government. Hunting may come and go, but interest in ones safety will never wane. Todays gun owner knows his/her rights, and is much more entrenched then in the old days. The troops maybe smaller, but they are better informed and better trained.
