Police: Bystander shoots, kills robber at Knoxville convenience store
KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A man who attempted to rob an east Knoxville convenience store early Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
A male friend of the clerk, who was outside the store in his parked vehicle, witnessed the attempted robbery, retrieved his handgun, entered the store and fired one shot, hitting Stapleton.
Responsible gun owners are an asset to our society and they save lives, case closed.
The criminal had his own illegally obtained gun with the serial number filed off, if this was in a state with gun control the outcome would have been much worse.
Tennessee is doing something right; the man who shot the criminal will not be charged with anything because he was protecting another citizen who’s life was in danger.
It’s both unfair and imprudent to expect the police to save the day or catch every bad guy, it’s the armed citizens in addition to law enforcement which will make this country truly safe.
