cloak tuck 3.0Shootings like this are extremely common in Chicago, many looking through the news have grown accustomed to seeing Chicago frequently. This past weekend was the second most violent weekend ever recorded. Since March every weekend has had double digit numbers of gun shootings and deaths, the number never being below 25.

This years total number is at around 2,213 which is 350 more than last year and 500 more than 2013. We can clearly see that the severe gun control laws in place are addressing the problem to curb gun related death and violence… NOT.

Chicago is the sad poster child of what happens when you infringe on the right to bear arms and render citizens defenseless. There will continue to be an uprise of violence in Chicago until they decide to arm the citizens. Guns aren’t the problem, its the criminals and people who use guns to carry out their selfish desires despite other human beings that are the problem.

The realization needs to happen that good people with guns prevent bad people with guns from continuing their violence. The Second Amendment is our fundamental right that should never be infringed on– otherwise more cities will be faced with the tragedies that happen every day in Chicago.

A semi driver was wounded in the leg while driving on the Bishop Ford Expressway in a possible road rage shooting, one of seven people shot across Chicago overnight since Wednesday. Someone in a black SUV opened fire on the truck driver near near Beaubien Woods around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Illinois State Police.

The 48-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 9200 block of South University Avenue when someone walked up and shot him in the chest, back, leg and face, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.  He was taken to Advocate Christ and pronounced dead. Early Thursday, police cordoned off a block of University Avenue between 92nd and 93rd streets.  Officers and detectives examined a silver car at the crime scene.

A woman walked up and lingered for a few moments, crying. “He was the delivery guy,” she said. “He would take me to and from work.” The woman closed her eyes, covered her face with her hand and started sobbing.  “It’s too much,” she cried. “It’s just too much.” In the hour or so after the shooting, police fielded reports of gunfire in the surrounding blocks. When a loud crack rang out north of the crime scene, a detective’s head snapped up. He paused. “Just fireworks,” he said and headed underneath the tape.
