Chris Christie Pardons 3 More: Is This Innocent Mother Facing 10 Years in Prison Next in Line?

Gov. Chris Christie pardons 3 more New Jersey gun law victims

This past August, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie made a promise to pardon legal gun owners who ignorantly become caught in the web of New Jersey’s unrelenting firearm transport laws.

He is following up on that promise this year with three more people with gun charges, he granted “full and free” pardons to Todd Doering, Elizabeth Jane Griffith and Brian Lee Fletcher, according to The Trentonian.

2 holster comboBrian Fletcher sets up generators that get cell service back after destructive storms and he works with an emergency team that is dispatched around the country when needed. The North Carolina resident was doing just this when he was arrested for having his loaded firearm in his car, which is legal to do in his state.

Todd Doering and Elizabeth Griffith were both out of state residents visiting with their legal firearms when they were arrested also because of the transport laws in New Jersey.

He already pardoned two this past year, Shaneen Allen, a Pennsylvania mother of two and lawful gun owner who was unaware of New Jersey’s transport laws, and Steffon Josey-Davis, who also was arrested and wrongfully charged for carrying his legal gun.

These pardoned cases are very similar to New Jersey’s latest victim of the some of the most severe gun laws in the United States, Mother and concealed carrier Mia Higginbotham. She needs to be the next pardoned.

The majority of U.S states have firearm permit reciprocity agreements, or they recognize a carry permit issued by another state. These laws protect travelers that are utilizing their Second Amendment away from their home state. New Jersey’s opinion of the gun itself as an evil object has leaked into it’s justice system and victimized many law abiding, innocent citizens who do not have murderous or bad intentions.

New Jersey’s gun laws have strayed so far from the constitution and have caused so much harm. They must be reviewed. New Jersey should no longer allow these laws to cause them any further harm and embarrassment than they already have. Many should now be aware of these laws and hopefully decide to not enter New Jersey and leave themselves defenseless.

Gov. Christie’s opinion on these laws have not made him a popular man. “I don’t know why the Legislature won’t change something like this when they, over and over again, see folks who are legal carriers of guns in other states, who are coming through here and not doing anything other than traveling through New Jersey,” he said in August. “It doesn’t make any sense.”
