Liam Neeson Mocked for Gun Control Comments
by Tina Daunt – Hollywood Reporter
Politically motivated street artists have plastered “redesigned” movie posters at various Los Angeles bus stops mocking Liam Neeson for his recent pro-gun control comments amid the release of his new action movie, Run All Night.
The studio marketing poster for the film features Neeson holding a handgun in a menacing pose. The artists altered the movie title to read “Gun All Right” with the tagline “One Hypocrite Laughing All the Way to the Bank.”
Neeson recently angered gun rights activists as well as PARA USA, which provided firearms for the film Taken 3, after he told Gulf News— in an interview after the Charlie Hebdo attacks— that there are “too many [expletive] guns out there. Especially in America.”
The modified Run All Night posters appeared in Westwood, new UCLA’s sorority row, Century City, and Pacific Palisades.
Usually you don’t see these kinds of things coming out from the pro-gun side. It is, however, fantastic that a street artist is calling out Neeson for his comment about gun control in America.
Shortly after the Charlie Hebdo attack, Neeson was reported saying that America has too many guns. Pro-gun fans of Neeson were unhappy with his comments and many vocally voiced their displeasure.
Neesons comments were especially hypocritical considering nearly all the movies he has starred in lately are action packed and filled with wild shoot’em-up gun scenes. Essentially, Neeson is making his career from glorifying gun violence, then denouncing guns in America. Many were quick to point this out.
This street artist, however, has taken his displeasure with Neesons comments to the next level. Creating fake posters for Neesons latest movie “Run All Night”, the artist changed the title to “Gun All Right” with the tagline “One Hypocrite Laughing All The Way To The Bank.”
Our hats go off to this mystery artist, and hope he continues exposing other Hollywood Hypocrites.
