Oregon Can’t Make Up Its Mind on Gun Rights

Oregon may honor concealed handgun licenses from other states as gun politics shift in Legislature

Groups seeking tighter gun laws won a big victory last month in the Oregon Legislature on background checks.

But now they’re losing a battle over a bill dealing with concealed handgun licenses.

The legislators in Oregon can’t seem to make up their minds.  Last month Oregonian gun owners were groaning over increased gun control, and this month could see a huge for victory gun rights.

Oregon is on track to start recognizing the concealed carry permits of other states, which is only fair since 18 states currently recognize Oregon permits.

My personal hope is that one day concealed carry permits will transcend state imposed gun control laws.  If you are a responsible gun owner in one state I can’t see a reason why you shouldn’t be able to carry in all the other states.

Last time I checked crossing state lines doesn’t turn concealed carriers into gun toting criminals.
