‘No one helped her’: NJ woman murdered by ex while awaiting gun permit

Bowne’s case prompted state senators Dawn Addiego, Diane Allen and Jennifer Beck to announce plans to introduce a bill that will fast-track the handgun permit process for applicants who have obtained a restraining order.
I would just like to say thank you to Fox News for picking up this story and being courageous enough to report the truth, which is that if this woman’s application would have been processed in the timeframe which the law requires that she would’ve at least had the ability to arm herself.
The point that this article makes at the end is a very important point to discuss, though she would’ve had the gun to protect herself; due to New Jersey’s draconian gun laws she would be facing charges of her own if she had been carrying outside of her home. This I suppose goes back to that old saying “I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6” and I can say that I would much rather be covering a story about Carol Bowne being charged by police for illegally carrying a firearm than this horrific story about her tragic and untimely death.
The moral of this story in my opinion is that we need to review these Unconstitutional laws and policies not just in New Jersey but throughout our entire country and get back to a place where We The People uphold our Constitution and all of its amendments giving the people the power to defend themselves as our Founding Fathers originally intended.
Our civil liberties make up the very fabric of this great country. They are the very thing that separates us from virtually every other country on this planet. We cannot let these heathens, who have no regard for our rights and freedoms, destroy our civil liberties with just a wave of the pen. The last thing we want is to look in the mirror down the road and ask ourselves the question: “Where did our freedom go?” We must act now.
