Burglar Finds Residents Hiding In Closet, Gets Shot

Overnight Burglary Turns Violent

via Local Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com)–A burglary turned violent on Friday night.

According to police, the sound of breaking glass woke up a man and woman at the Ridgeway Terrace Apartments in Hickory Hill.
Believing someone had entered the house, the couple hid in a closet. The burglar, who police say is the woman’s ex-boyfriend, found the pair in the closet.
The man then shot the suspect. He was taken to regional one in critical condition.

You are not supposed to feel bad for the bad-guy, but sometimes you just can’t help yourself.

Here we have this burglar who, by smashing glass upon entry, sent the residents of this apartment to flee into a closet and hide in terror.

He had the entire place to himself to rob. No resistance, no fighting back from anyone; just pick it clean and leave.

So what does he do? He decides to open the one closet where the terrified residents were huddled; with a gun.

As said burglar opens the closet he gets blasted by the huddling residents. Game over. You do not get to collect stolen goods, instead, you are going directly to jail.

Good on the residents for having a gun to protect themselves. Their method of self defense is certainly to be desired, but hey they defended themselves when they felt their life was being threatened. What more can you ask for?
