Detroit Coney Island employee shoots, kills armed robber

Via Nick Monacelli @ Local 4

A worker at a Detroit Coney Island shot and killed a robber Sunday morning after the man walked into the restaurant with a gun and announced a robbery in front of customers.

This is the type of defensive gun use we need to see more throughout our country. Many of our cities are making attempts to rebuild from serious financial collapse like Detroit is currently. When our cities are in such dire straits it is important for us as law-abiding citizens to do our part to help our community heal. Part of this healing comes from gathering the strength to stand up for people and for what is right, being strong enough to face evil and tyrannical people squarely and hold our ground in the face of fear.

In this case the cook whom took matters into his own hands did just that and as the witness in the above video proclaims “he is a hero”. Now the gun control advocates will state that the entire situation would have never happened with stricter gun control policy. I do not know what it is going to take to get these advocates to understand the simple fact that these criminals have never and will never follow laws in the first place.

Detroit is a violent city with 11 shootings on Saturday, without this cook stepping in this number could have easily doubled. We need another hero, we need another hero everyday in every city in our magnificent country. The analogy popularized in the film American Sniper in its original format here:

If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen: a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath—a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? Then you are a sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path.

This is your call people, analyze this statement and ask yourself who you are. If the answer is a “Sheepdog” then, learn your rights, file for the appropriate permits, arm yourself not only with a weapon but also with the knowledge of how to properly use it, and answer your call to protect the sheep.
