We’re supporting #Not1Less today!
On June 2 HBO, MTV, and a host of celebrities will be joining Michael Bloomberg and other pro-gun control groups to watch participating mayors proclaim “Gun Violence Awareness Day” in their cities.
Those participating will “wear orange” and MTV will “change its on-air logo — as well as several of its social media avatars — to orange in recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.”
Perhaps you wore orange yesterday in support of gun control, this type of thinking could lead to you or one of your loved ones wearing orange for the rest of your life just for defending yourself or your family.
The idea of #NotOneMore is a great idea as no one wants to see pointless deaths, but the process by which we achieve this is not by taking away the rights of law abiding citizens. It is not by disarming the people that we disarm the criminals.
This is why we say #Not1Less. We as American citizens have the rights that we were granted by our forefathers in order to protect ourselves and our families, and it is important for all of us to retain these rights to protect our way of life. So we say #Not1Less to all of our rights and freedoms.
The truth is that when we give law abiding citizens the ability to defend themselves and those around them, these are the types of results we get:
According to this Washington Times Article:
Since Illinois started granting concealed carry permits this year, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics. Reports of burglary and motor vehicle theft are down 20 percent and 26 percent, respectively. In the first quarter, the city’s homicide rate was at a 56-year low.
