Nearly all mass shootings since 1950 have taken place in designated Gun-Free zones. These places are usually the most vulnerable – such as schools, malls, and public parks.

For many, the mere sign being posted is enough security for them to think nothing bad will happen. It is an illusion they would gladly cling to then have to face the harsh reality that bad people to bad things – regardless of where they are.

Worse, however, is that these zones prevent good law abiding citizens from having a way to protect themselves (and others) in the event that a bad guy shows up to do bad things.

This is what makes these zones such ripe places for mass shootings; the gunman has little to fear when he knows none of his targets are going to be able to fire back.

Is it better to leave people to hold onto their illusions so long as they feel safe in these places, or should be acknowledge these are simply welcome signs for bad people to come do their worst?

In a new documentary airing April 1st, examines whether or not Gun Free Zones make a difference, and how effective they are at keeping those inside the zone “safe.”

This is the first documentary which is actually challenging the popular notion that we need Gun Free Zones in the USA.

As far as we are concerned, the only people Gun Free Zones keep safe are the criminals.

The documentary airs April 1st. You can learn more about the documentary at its webpage HERE
