Obama’s America: Our Military Members Sit Unarmed, But Look Who ISN’T

On Monday morning, our military personnel will report for duty again — with no firearms, no stun guns, no mace, not even a water pistol. President Obama could change the regulations preventing them from being armed IMMEDIATELY, but instead has chosen to provide firearms to all of these folks:
Ashley then goes on to list the details surrounding the arming of Mexican Drug Lords, al_Qaeda, Syrian Rebels (and ISIS), Iran, and “59 Countries”, a brief look at the countries on the “59 Countries” list should have you all choking for a second. The point I am trying to make here is that we are arming our enemies to the hilt but assuring that our military at home are sitting ducks.
This originally came to us in the form of Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5210.56 which was signed into effect in February 1992 by Donald J. Atwood, deputy secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush. This has since been reissued in April 2011 by Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III. The Pentagon opposes having weapons on base for several reasons but the first and foremost being “safety”. This is absolutely absurd, we are talking about soldiers here, soldiers that have in most cases proven themselves in the battlefield. The four Marines that were killed the day of the Chattanooga shooting were all war veterans serving in either Iraq, Afghanistan, or both.
Defensive Gun Use is not a topic reserved for the private citizens of our country but for all citizens including our military personnel. These individuals above all others have a need to be able to defend themselves at all times as we never know when another psycho will be activated for the next terrorist attack. Obama can and should change this policy immediately, and we as Americans should not rest until we know our bases are safe from additional terrorist attacks.
