Carolyn Maloney Goes Bananas, Monkeys Around with Gun Owners’ Rights

House bill would require gun owners to have liability insurance

By Lydia Wheeler

House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance.

“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

Maloney said auto insurance carriers incentivize drivers to take precautions to reduce accidents, but no such incentives exist for firearm owners.

“An insurance requirement would allow the free market to encourage cautious behavior and help save lives,” she said. “Adequate liability coverage would also ensure that the victims of gun violence are fairly compensated when crimes or accidents occur.”

Oh, Carolyn, you just need to sit the next few rounds out. Maybe take a nice long walk somewhere, and reevaluate your stance on our Second Amendment right before proposing more ridiculous gun-related ideas.

I’m all for keeping guns out of gangster hands, but implementing a gun insurance policy won’t do a thing to solve the problem. Criminals do what they want, and this anti-gunner doesn’t understand that.

I find it hard to visualize a gangster in line with their pants sagging down low, a baseball cap with the sticker still stuck to the bill, applying for an insurance policy on a gun. Chances are good they stole their firearm anyway.

Maloney and her team of advisors should rethink their political strategy. The Firearm Risk Protection Act will die a horribly slow death, and she should abandon it as soon as she finds her common sense (who knows how long that will take). Until then, I’ll be here eating popcorn and watching the drama, starring Carolyn Maloney, unfold.

This stupid broad is CRAZY. She want me to pay for liability insurance? Why???

She talks about, “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”
The gun fatalities are not from responsible armed citizens. Don’t ever classify me with criminals because I have a permit to carry a weapon.

Someone should make her buy liability insurance for the damage just looking at her does to ones eyes.

Here is an alternative idea for her to put into law. Require all criminals to carry injury insurance in case they get hurt while burgling someone’s home. I know, it is preposterous, but no more so than her idea.

Lydia, I know you don’t really think that Maloney believes for one second that her proposal would actually do anything to reduce gun incidents. It’s all about making it an odious hindrance for law abiding citizens to own firearms.
