Woman delivering pizzas was forced to the ground at gunpoint, luckily she had a gun
We’ve seen many other instances where pizza delivery drivers were robbed, shot, raped or killed while on the job, and yet many pizza companies refuse to let their drivers be armed to protect themselves.
Papa John’s doesn’t allow their delivery drivers to carry either, yet when they announced they were standing by their delivery driver in this instance, maybe they’ll have second thoughts in the future about allowing their employees to be armed. Read more on the article here.
Papa John’s Pizza is standing by a pizza delivery woman who opened fire Sunday on an armed robber in an act of self defense.
The pizza franchise told FoxNews.com Thursday the employee, who hasn’t been named, will not be fired from the company.
The employee was making a delivery in Decatur, Ga., Sunday night when a man approached her vehicle, forcing her onto the ground at gunpoint, according to the DeKalb County Police Department. The woman, who had a gun in her pocket, was able to fire at the man while on the ground — striking the alleged assailant, identified as 24-year-old Donquaz Stevenson, in the face.
Who knows how this could have turned out if this woman had not been armed, which was actually against her companies policy. If pizza companies know they are sending their employees into dangerous and high-crime areas they should make sure their employees are protected.
There’s been several instances where female deliver drivers were kidnapped and raped while on the job, and other employees have even been killed. Domino’s Pizza put one of their drivers on leave after his defensive gun use last year.
After reading about that I no longer brought my business there and encouraged others to do also. I love Papa John’s Pizza so it’s a relief that I don’t have to boycott them too…
