Santa Fe police have tracked down a road rage suspect.

Police were looking for Estevan Garcia, who is accused of pointing a gun at another driver in traffic.

The incident was reported Friday at the intersection of Galisteo Street and St. Michael’s Drive.

Police said the victim paused at a green light to let traffic go by, and Garcia got angry and yelled at him. When the drivers ended up next to each other again, police said Garcia pulled out a rifle.

“For someone to pull out a rifle and potentially take someone’s life over not going fast enough, it is very worrisome for us,” Lt. Andrea Dobyns said.

Police said the victim admitted that he also pulled out a gun to defend himself. No shots were fired.

Can you say “Irresponsible Gun Owners?”

These are the kinds of people that give responsible gun owners a bad name, and become poster children for Moms Demand Action.

First, you have idiot #1 who is carrying a rifle in his car which he proceeds to brandish when another driver fails to drive fast enough.

Everyone has been in the position where you get stuck behind someone, or driving conditions are not optimal when trying to get somewhere in a hurry.

We have all probably cursed, maybe hit the steering wheel, or any other number of dumb things that felt good and proper at the time.

But taking out a gun and aiming at someone over this? Absolutely irresponsible and dangerous.

Now lets talk about idiot #2. You might be asking why is the “victim” also an idiot?

Well here he has a weapon on him, which is good, and when some idiot pulls up next to him pointing a rifle what does he do? He takes his gun out and points it back.

What purpose does this serve? A gun should never be used as a toy or a prop. If you feel your life is threatened you need to take action, not brandish your weapon.

This tells me that the “victim” did not really feel his life was being threatened or else he would have shot his assailant.

He took his gun out and showed it as part of the pissing match between these two idiots.

Hopefully they will both learn something from this incident and be more careful next time.
