14 Year Old Shot and in Critical Condition After Breaking Into the “Wrong House”

The homeowner, a man in his 60s who uses a cane to get around, said he grabbed his pistol when he heard glass breaking around 10:30 a.m. When he went to investigate, Stanley Ganes found the teen attempting to crawl through a broken window. Ganes warned the teen several times that he was armed and it was in his best interest not to proceed any further. But the suspect ignored Ganes’ warnings and still tried to get in through the window.

Phoenix AZ: The shooting left one 14 year old boy in critical condition, the suspects name has not yet been released to the public. The homeowner issued several warnings to the teen who did not heed any of them. Once the homeowner say the teen reaching behind his back as if for a weapon he discharged his pistol hitting the suspect once in the shoulder.

2 holster comboThe teen then fled on foot climbing a fence to get away but was captured by first responders who found him several blocks away, severely wounded. He was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. Ganes was uninjured.

Initially it was believed that the suspect was between the ages of 17-20 years old, but officials have confirmed that he is 14 years old. Even given the age of the suspect the homeowner feels justified in his decision to discharge his firearm adding this statement:

“Wrong house, truth, I don’t hold back from the truth, wrong house,” said Ganes, adding that he is only six feet above breathing and he treated the teen breaking into his home the same way.
