A man was waiting at a Detroit bus stop when three teens walked up to him, pulled out a gun and asked for his money, according to Fox2 Detroit. The muggers told him if he moved they were going to kill him, and then they thought they hit the jackpot: the man had $220 dollars in his his pocket.

They were too excited about the amount of money they pulled out of his pocket to pay attention to what he was doing. Luckily the victim had just received his concealed pistol license and was carrying for this exact reason.

His brother spoke to the news for him because of fear of retaliation. He said his brother didn’t want to lose his life- he was in fear of losing it, so he shot to protect himself.

The 23-year-old CPL holder called Detroit police. FOX 2 learned the two wounded suspects went to find medical help at Sinai Grace Hospital across the street from the scene. They told the ER they were walking down the street when they were held up and shot.

But investigators put it together and realized they had their suspects. One of the teens eventually confessed to this crime and others  and further evidence was found on their Facebook pages.

Tremain, who is also a CPL holder, believes this is a perfect example of why he and his brother have no choice but to carry in a city that is plagued by this sort of crime.

Detroit is completely plagued by crime and gun violence, it has one of the highest crime rates in the nation. However, since 2013 when the chief of police 2 holster comboencouraged more people to carry firearms and fight back, they have been seeing lower crime rates.

This is exactly what our Second Amendment is for, we have a right to protect ourselves.

Like the man in this story said, we should not have to be in fear everywhere we go. We all have the constitutional right to carry and defend ourselves against those who may cross our path and threaten our lives.
