Gov. Scott Walker Arming National Guard Members While On Duty
In the wake of the horrible terrorist attack on our military facilities last week Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has issued an executive order that allows National Guard members to be armed while on duty. This is one of the first in what I hope to be a long line of executive orders issued state by state to insure the safety of our ARMED forces.
“Safety must be our top priority, especially in light of the horrific attack in Chattanooga,” Governor Walker said. “Allowing our National Guard members to carry weapons while on duty gives them the tools they need to serve and protect our citizens, as well as themselves. I am also directing Adjutant General Donald Dunbar to evaluate longer-term plans to ensure the safety of our service members.”
When we look at our past these attacks are nearly always carried out in gun free zones enabling these cowards to open fire without the threat of returned fire, this move will put all of the attackers on notice that their acts of cowardice will be met with armed resistance. The very nature of these terrorists is cowardice, they hide in the shadows and launch attacks on innocent unarmed victims. The same can be said for the cowardly perpetrators of many of he mass shootings in the world.
This executive order and the others that have been issued in the wake of last weeks attack not only give our soldiers a fighting chance, they are likely to deter attacks these groups have in their future plans. It has been made extremely clear after the Chattanooga Attack that the Radical Islam not only detests America and all that she stands for but that they have designs in place on exercising terror upon us. Our forces need to be armed and ready for the next attack.
