Gear Review: Cloak Tuck 3.0 vs Cloak Tuck 2.0
Alien Gear Holsters – 2.0 vs. 3.0
The Alien Gear Holster Cloak Tuck 2.0 and Cloak Tuck 3.0 iwb holster head-to-head comparison, brought to you by Defend And Carry
Stephen Halverson shows you the layer-by-layer differences between the Alien Gear inside the waistband hybrid holsters. This gun enthusiast will walk you through the details and intricacies of both inside the waistband holsters.
The all-new Cloak Tuck 3.0, released this year in June 2015, is a modular ultra-concealable holster complete with a rigid stainless spring-steel core and a layer of tightly woven ballistic nylon. These components will give your gun a space to snap into place. It also helps with retention. Both parts to this concealed carry holster are specific to the Cloak Tuck 3.0.
Stephen noticed the high levels of quality and comfort because of their ultra-soft neoprene backing-a material that provides comfort to the carrier’s side. This waterproof layer has been upgraded in the Cloak Tuck 3.0 to cover the once exposed hardware of the Cloak Tuck 2.0. This prevents carriers from feeling the metal on their skin.
Also new to the Cloak Tuck 3.0 is its thermo elastomer Alien Skin surface, a material that provides added retention and grip to your IWB holster. This stuff is tough.
Both the Cloak Tuck 2.0 and Cloak Tuck 3.0 are ultra concealable and comfortable. The two concealed carry holster options come equipped with customizable capabilities, including the holster’s cant, ride height, and retention. As Stephen mentions in the video, both the Cloak Tuck 2.0 and Cloak Tuck 3.0’s shells can be easily swapped out to match the gun that you’d like to carry.
The difference of $8 comes down to the added upgrades to the Cloak Tuck 3.0. To recap, Alien Gear Holsters has reduced the hardware, added more neoprene, and has integrated ballistic nylon, stainless spring-steel, and an Alien Skin surface into the Cloak Tuck 3.0.
Feel comfort and concealability with both IWB holster options.
