Thousands Rally Against Washington State’s Draconian i594

Pro Gun Rally – Continue to Chose Until Your Choice is Taken From You

pro gun - thousands protest draconian law i594

Fed up with the passage of an 18½-page incoherent, rambling, unconstitutional gun control initiative that was bankrolled by billionaires, gun owners across Washington state held the largest felony civil disobedience rally in the nation’s history, brazenly titled “I Will Not Comply.” No one was hurt and no stores were looted. Between 1,000 and 3,000 lawful gun owners showed up openly armed at the state capitol in Olympia, Wash., on Saturday to defy the newly passed gun control law, I-594.

Protesters have been brazenly committing felonies at rallies, and police have made public statements about knowing the felonies are taking place but not taking any sort of action.

This is exactly what happens when the Second Amendment is compromised in any way. It is flagrantly disregarded by those who understand how crucial it is to protect our rights.

Law I-594 is a state law in Washington that pushes requirements across the line from safety to unnecessary restriction. It basically adds more background checks for private sale and purchase and closely monitors gun shows and expos.

Gun owners across America didn’t waste any time to come together to assemble protests, hold rallies and gun expos in direct disobedience of the law. In December of last year more than two thousand armed Americans came together publicly in Olympia, Washington to exchange and transfer firearms, sign a petition against I-594, and burn their concealed weapons permits as a public show with police officers aware and nearby. It was a success and the law was nullified.

About six months after that gun owners organized an arms expo to sidestep state law and publicly exchange firearms and accessories focusing on gun safety and demonstrations.

“When I -594 passed it upset some individuals and rightly so,” Tactical Supply owner and sponsor of the arms expo Shayne Downing said. “The no background checks has been occurring for as long as this country has been around, so it’s nothing new, gun shows have been operating this way for quite some time now until recently unfortunately that changed,”

Washington police were vocal about the expo beforehand, and wrote it off as a non-issues commenting on the responsibility of the usual armed attendees.

Spokesperson Mike Bastinelli said:

“The Yakima Police Department has never policed gun shows and we have no intention to start doing that despite this new law that we believe is going to be challenged in courts.”

This behavior is what our country should be all about, and I am quite surprised that many of the gun toting protesters and expo participants were able to make it out despite the difficulty of getting around with such giant testicles.

Behavior towards new laws like these that are being proposed and pushed every day can go one of two ways. We can refuse to comply and fight to prepare in every way possible for the growing tsunami of gun control on the horizon, or we can obey the law and turn in our firearms as well as our country.

In times like these we are joining the notorious and formidable rebel army of protesters in American history that have counted it their moral obligation to disobey the law and suffer the consequences.

Unfortunately some believe being informed and fighting the system is too much, last year in Washington many gun shop owners noticed an increase in gun owners selling back their firearms. Many blamed the new law for being too confusing with consequences that weren’t worth owning a gun.

Terry Rodgers, a Spokane gun store owner discussed the 39% drop in permits issued last year since I-594 and the return of firearms largely in Spokane County Washington, “You just don’t know what can happen to you, so it’s a lot easier to get rid of your guns or part of them.”

I think in instances like this it’s best to let past history speak for itself. I was going to preface this next paragraph by saying that this may seem like a huge stretch and another crazy conspiracy theory but don’t ignore the following facts and comparisons.

Kitty Werthmann has been traveling to schools across America and describing her experiences of growing up in Austria when her people voted to annex to Germany and join Hitler’s Regime in 1938. She talks about the loss of the individual’s defense and rights in the slow, diabolical fade that took place in her country.

“They took our guns – Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long afterwards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily.”

She then goes on to say this chilling statement, “Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism. Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.”
